Welcome to Mr. Sturgill's Classroom Website

Students,

Sorry I'm not there today, as I told you all yesterday in class, I'm attending my wife's grandmothers funeral.  I will see you all Wednesday.  Please work on the following:

Digital Literacy Classes - 2nd, 3rd, 5th, 6th, 7th Periods

Log on to your computer. Work on your daily bellwork (first 6 to 8 minutes of class).  If you still have not finished any of the assignments that are listed on the board in the front of class (the first ten assignments for the fourth nine weeks) then continue working on those.  If you have turned all of those in then work on the following freetypinggame.net worksheet.  DO NOT PRINT THIS WORKSHEET OUT.  YOU WILL BE E-MAILING IT TO ME.  WHEN YOU DOWNLOAD IT, NAME IT "YOUR NAME - FREETYPING WORKSHEET".  POST YOUR SCORE TO THE SCOREBOARD FOR EACH OF THE TESTS THAT YOU TAKE. WHEN TYPING YOUR NAME ON THE WEBSITE USE THE FIRST LETTER OF YOUR FIRST NAME, YOUR ENTIRE LAST NAME, AND THE NUMBER OF THE PERIOD YOU HAVE ME FOR.  examples - ABAKER2, MLYONS3, JWILBURN5, TDUNCAN6, RPARKER7. YOU MUST THEN TYPE OUT YOUR RESULTS ON THE DOWNLOADED DOCUMENT. BEFORE YOU E-MAIL THE DOCUMENT YOU MUST RESAVE THE DOCUMENT; OTHERWISE YOU WOULD BE E-MAILING ME THE SAME BLANK DOCUMENT THAT YOU DOWNLOADED. FOR EACH TEST YOU ARE ABLE TO COMPLETE I WILL GIVE YOU 2 BONUS POINTS.  YOU HAVE THE OPTION TO EARN UPTO 40 BONUS POINTS.  THE ONLY DAY I WILL BE GIVING YOU THIS OPPORTUNITY THIS NINE WEEKS WILL BE TODAY.  YOU CANNOT DO THIS ANY OTHER DAY THAN TODAY.

Multimedia Publishing - 4th Period

Log on to computers. Go to the Google Classroom.  Find the assignment that I created for your group.  I had to switch up a couple of the groups to make some accomodations (these will not be permanent changes to the groups - with this funeral sneaking up on me I had to come up with these changes really quick) they will probably only last the duration of this project.  Once you find your assignment, you can collaborately work on filling out the tables on each of your seperate products.

Students,

Sorry I'm not there today, wasn't feeling good at all Sunday.  Hopefully its just some kind of small bug and not the flu; really hoping that I will be back on Tuesday.  Please work on the following:

Digital Literacy Classes - 2nd, 3rd, 5th, 6th, 7th Periods

Log on to computers. Go to classroom website and get your weekly journals topics; this weeks  journals are #100 - 104. Remember to write three sentences on the journal  topic; some of you have been getting lazy and not typing three sentences.  After completing your journals you can start working on Tables Handout #13.  To change the appearance of the table click on the "Design" tab of the table tools section.  You have to be inside of the table to see the tabs.  Go back and add a thin line down the middle of the table to show that it is two columns (you will have to do this for each table - use the add border button).  If you get done, you can print; just remember to print on both sides (long edge).

If you were out of the room last week when we worked on Tables Handout #12, there is a paper copy in the front of the room beside the printer.  To add the symbols to your document just copy and paste them from the file located below.

Log on to computers. Go to classroom website and get your weekly journals topics; this weeks  journals are #100 - 104. Remember to write three sentences on the journal  topic.  After completing your journals log into the Google classroom. There is a new assignment; I have placed you back in your original groups and lightened the work load.  This time each member only has to write two paragraphs.  In your groups document you have been given a table that lists some basic facts about your color of dragon.  Feel free to use the Internet to look up additional facts for your groups story.  You can write about having a pet dragon, traveling to a far off land to conquer the dragon, you can even be the dragon; your story has to have the dragon in it though and be a prominent part of the story.

If everyone can do their part we will stick with these groups a while longer; but if not we will randomyly draw them out of hat again.

Tuesday , September 5, 2017

Students,

Sorry I'm not there today, hopefully I'll be back tomorrow.  Please work on the following things:

Digital Literacy Classes - 2nd, 3rd, 5th, 6th, 7th Periods

  •  Log on to computers
  • Go to classroom website and copy and paste weekly journals into a blank Microsoft Word document.  Save as "Your name - Journals 10 - 13" in your Digital Literacy folder on your desktop.
  • Download the following handout, Lesson 2b and work on it in class.
  • Several students were out last week due to the fair, if they get done with the above assignments they can work on last weeks journals and documents; those documents are located in the front of the class in folders.
  • DO NOT PRINT ANYTHING TODAY - THE PRINTER WAS STILL ACTING UP

Multimedia Class - 4th Period

  •  Log on to computers
  • Go to classroom website and copy and paste weekly journals into a blank Microsoft Word document. Save as "Your name - Journals 10 - 13" in your Multimedia folder on your desktop.
  • On Friday you got into groups (by row) and were to start gathering information for a PowerPoint project.  You were told to research pictures from newspapers, magazines, tweets, etc. that showed bad spelling and grammar errors.  Today, if you need to gather more pictures that's fine.  In your groups, start creating slides that show off these pictures.  When you are adding slides be sure to use either two content or comparison as your slide layout so that you can show the picture with the mistake on the left and corrected statement on the right.  As a group, you will be correcting the mistakes.

Students,

Welcome to my classroom website. From this website you will be able to to get weekly journal assignments, reading materials, classroom assignments, study guides, and more.

There are links located to the left for our classroom rules, my daily schedule, as well as my grading procedures.

I hope that I've designed this website in as an easy-to-use format as possible. If you have any questions about this website feel free to ask me in class.
