Mrs. Dillow's Math Class!

Welcome to 6th Grade Math!

Let's start Unit 2! Solving One-Step Equations

When solving algebraic equations, you are actually solving for the variable - not the actual equation.  To do this, you need to ensure that you keep each side of the equal sign balanced, and get the variable by itself on one side of the equal sign.  You do this through inverse operations.
Inverse Operations are when you use the opposite operation sign to get the variable by itself.  Here is a video we viewed in class that explains keeping the balance when solving one-step equations.
