EIGHTH-GRADE SPOTLIGHT: DANIELLE WHITLOCK
We're excited to continue recognizing our eighth-grade students throughout the month of May!
Ms. Katie Williams shares that Danielle is such a nice human being. She is genuine and kind, making the elementary students feel comfortable and welcome during EdRising. Ms. Williams notes that she can trust Danielle to do any job well. She works hard in class and at archery. She notes that she will miss Danielle next year!
We are so incredibly proud of this Wildcat and look forward to the many successes she will achieve at the high school!


CAREER AND TECHNICAL EDUCATION STUDENT OF THE WEEK
Mr. Scott Bowling shares that Bryce recently did a great job of answering all media questions and represented our school very well throughout our fourth annual Habitat build day. Mr. Bowling notes that he is very proud of Bryce!

EIGHTH-GRADE SPOTLIGHT: HANNAH NEWSOM
We're excited to continue recognizing our eighth-grade students throughout the month of May!
Ms. Katie Williams shares that Hannah is a great student and a great athlete. Recently, Hannah invited a student to join a volleyball game and took the time to teach some friends how to hit and set a volleyball, so they could play. She does a great job in EdRising and seeks out the shy students who are reluctant to participate. Hannah has a lot of wonderful traits, but the one I admire the most is that she is an includer.
We are so incredibly proud of this Wildcat and look forward to the many successes she will achieve at the high school!


After testing concluded today, building administrators, Brandi Litteral and Melissa Bowling, spent time distributing items from the prize cart to seventh-grade students for high attendance and winning a search activity.
They're excited to continue their deliveries tomorrow!


EIGHTH-GRADE SPOTLIGHT: JASMINE BURCHETT AND CAROLINE WOODS

Mrs. Dornon notes that these two young ladies are very sweet and always willing to help! She notes that they recently had "beauty school" during FLEX and took the time to show Mrs. Dornon how to use her new beach wave curling iron. She further adds that they were incredibly patient as she learned from them!

We're excited to continue recognizing our eighth-grade students throughout the month of May!
Mrs. Christi Dornon shares that Ethan has matured quite a bit. She notes that he takes responsibility for his work and is very polite. She further adds that he always says "thank you" and "have a nice day".

CONTINUING TO LEARN
Last week, students in our Hospitality and Tourism class visited the extension office once more. They customized their own Ramen noodles, adding various vegetables and seasonings.
It seems that the end results were quite tasty! Great work, students!

Mrs. Bobbi Brumfield shares, "I've known Abbi since she was a sixth-grader in my Creative Writing class. Now, I have the privilege of having her in my eighth-grade English class. She has grown so much during this time. She is a dependable, trustworthy, and hardworking student. I am so proud of her growth and accomplishments."

Mrs. Christi Dornon notes that Brayden works incredibly hard in science class. He completes his work regularly and demonstrates strong background knowledge in the subject. Mrs. Dornon further notes that Brayden adds to classroom discussions with his knowledge and asks great questions!

When it comes to Rylen, Mrs. Christi Dornon notes that she is "very sweet and helpful". In addition, Mrs. Dornon adds that Rylen is a "generous soul".

EIGHTH-GRADE SPOTLIGHT: WILLIAM BILLUPS
We're continuing to highlight our eighth-grade Wildcats!
Mr. Scott Bowling shares that William has been a true asset to the Industrial Arts program. He is always willing to help others and show them the right way to do specific tasks. He has done a fantastic job as a manager this year, and we will miss him!
We are so proud of William and look forward to the successes he will achieve in high school!


IT'S TIME TO FLUSH THE TEST!
At Wurtland Middle School, we're getting ready to bring the RIZZ to state assessments! It's time for our Skibidi Showdown! Throughout our testing days, we'll be dressing in specific attire.
Students will be participating in team competitions throughout the testing window and earning points. Next Monday, we'll kick-off our assessment window with a pep rally!
Wish our Wildcats good luck, as we're certain they'll bring the SKIBIDI GRIND!


EIGHTH-GRADE SPOTLIGHT: MASON PORTER
Throughout the next few weeks, we'll be highlighting many of our eighth-grade Wildcats!
Mrs. Baleigh Long shares that Mason made it part of his routine to stop by her classroom and say "hello," noting that his visits have always helped to brighten her days. She adds, "No matter what, he always had a smile on his face and a great attitude. It was always a bright spot in my day."
We're so proud of Mason and look forward to watching the successes he achieves in high school!


A SPECIAL THANKS
We owe a special note of thanks to Johnny and Sandra Salyers, representatives of AMVETS Post 95. Today, they donated new American and Commonwealth flags to Wurtland Middle School.
