Recently, students in Mrs. Dornon's forensic science class completed a lab activity focused on dusting for fingerprints. It looks like these detectives did some great work on their cases!

SPOOKY SEASON FUN

Students in the second-grade of Mrs. Loos have been enjoying some Halloween writing activities filled with laughs and creativity, working to decide what costume Mrs. Loos will wear for Halloween! Of course, they also had to take a special Minecraft brain break to celebrate this extra spooky week.

We love see our Musketeers learning and having fun!

Take a look at this "Kids Eat Free" resource that was shared with us by our friends from Pathways. Mark this for later reference should it be needed. We are always looking for new ways to support our Musketeers!

COLLEAGUE CREDIT

Miss Lexie Carroll wants to share a huge shout-out to Sarah Williams for all of her help recently. Miss Carroll notes that Mrs. Williams went above and beyond to help her, printing several large binders for Miss Carroll. Miss Carroll notes that this was such a huge time-saver for her. She adds that Mrs. Williams even helped her another day, printing something urgent when her printer wasn’t connected. Finally, Miss Carroll notes that Mrs. Williams also assisted on the playground recently, helping to get students safely back to the building. Her kindness, teamwork, and willingness to help made such a difference in each setting. Thank you, Mrs. Williams, for being so supportive and dependable!

MUSKIE OF THE WEEK

Ms. Katie Williams notes that Amber recently stopped to pick up an item that an older student had dropped during breakfast. She very carefully balanced her own tray to retrieve this item for someone else. Ms. Williams notes that she is proud of Amber for seeing a need, being brave enough to approach and help the older student, and handling her own materials so expertly all at once. That's a pretty big accomplishment for someone so little!

We are all very proud of this little Musketeer!

MUSKETEER OF THE WEEK

Mrs. Baleigh Long shares that, recently, as Katelyn walked into school from the morning pick-up line, she noticed a younger student crying, one who wasn't quite ready for the beginning of the school day. Without hesitation, Katelyn stopped to offer comfort and support. Thank you for being kind to others, Katelyn!

We are so proud of the compassion of our Musketeers!

PUMP UP (AND TRANSFER) THE ENERGY

Recently, student's in Mr. Fyffe's fourth-grade class have been working to understand the concepts of energy and energy transfer. During these lessons, students worked collaboratively to understand differences in stored energy, examining rubber band sizes and energy changes according to movements of the band on a ride model. The close of the lesson required students to consider how to build this ride in a true-to-life size.

We love to see our Musketeers engaged in hands-on learning experiences!

ON THE DEFENSE

Recently, students in Mr. Doran's class have been learning about positive defense mechanisms that they can use when feeling anxious, attacked, accused, or even angry. Under Mr. Doran's guidance, students made a list of techniques to manage their feelings that do not hurt others. These techniques are also designed to help students avoid trouble. The class then designed shields to use as defense mechanisms, adding their personal favorite options onto the shields themselves.

Upon completion, students affixed the shields to foam boards, providing a physical reminder of the positive ways they can deal with uncomfortable situations.

It's another favorite unit in Mrs. Dornon's Health Sciences class. Students have been working through their athletic training unit, learning how to properly tape ankles and wrists, amongst other skills.

These students are almost ready to take their skills to the sidelines. Great work, Musketeers!
