Please join Greenup County School of Innovation on October 17 as we wear pink in honor of those who have fought or are currently fighting breast cancer. Let's stand in support of and solidarity with those who are facing this illness.

OCTOBER 27 - OCTOBER 31, 2025

WRITER OF THE WEEK
Mrs. Bobbi Brumfield shares that Rachel is deserving of Writer of the Week because she gives her full effort each day in Creative Writing class. Mrs. Brumfield notes that Rachel just finished an adventure story using Google Slides and is now working on a two-sentence Goosebumps-related story.
RACHEL IS DOING THINGS WRITE AT GREENUP COUNTY SCHOOL OF INNOVATION!

MUSKIE OF THE WEEK
Mrs. Kristen Arthur shares that Ella is so kind to her classmates. She is always saying kind words, helping, and encouraging those around her. She works hard and gives her best effort, no matter how difficult the task, and inspires those around her to do the same.
We are so incredibly proud of this little Musketeer!

Mrs. Angie Shannon shares that Jaylon recently helped a student who had dropped his binder and papers in the hallway. Other students were rushing to get to class, but Jaylon took the time to go the extra mile to be kind!
Way to be a leader, Jaylon! We are so proud of you!

Each year, we plan a field trip to take ALL of our students to the Festival of Trees. This year, we have planned this trip for Friday, November 21. We have established a special tradition of taking our students to a special location for a special meal following the trip to Festival of Trees. Each year, generous donors have stepped forward to help us provide our students with this special experience.
This year, we are once again asking for help and support from our friends, families, and community members to make this trip a special memory for our students. Should you wish to contribute, no amount is too large or too small.
Please contact building administrators, Brandi Litteral and Melissa Bowling, for additional information about making a donation. You may also message the school's Facebook page.

Her students are hosting a sock and blanket drive to help those in need.
* Donations will be accepted through November 5.
* Socks may be of any size.
* Please make sure all items are clean and in good condition.
* Donations may be brought to Greenup County School of Innovation, 700 Center St., Greenup, KY 41144, or sent with a student.
Let’s come together as a school family to spread warmth and compassion this season!

Beginning tomorrow, Greenup County School of Innovation students will begin participating in a classroom candy competition. This competition is going to be delicious, as the classroom that collects the most candy will win a pizza party!
Elementary students will participate with their classes. Sixth-grade students will participate with their second period classes, and seventh and eighth-grade students will participate with their first period classes.
All donated candy will be used for our annual trunk-or-treat event that will be held on October 21.
Thank you for supporting our students!

Mrs. Haileigh Hayes shares that Maylynn is an outstanding student who consistently goes above and beyond both academically and personally. She demonstrates kindness, responsibility, and leadership in the classroom, always willing to assist her peers and support Mrs. Hayes as her teacher. Whether it’s helping with copies, organizing supplies, or lending a hand during activities, Maylynn puts others before herself. Most recently, during our corn husk doll activity, she took the initiative to sort and organize all the materials for her classmates, even sacrificing her own project time to ensure others were successful. Her generosity, selflessness, and positive attitude make her an excellent choice for Musketeer of the Week.
We are so proud of you, Maylynn!

Mrs. Rhonda Loos shares that Elena is a delight and always brings a bright smile to her classroom. She cares about her fellow students and is eager to help in any way. From distributing papers, helping others in her group during centers, or being a good friend, she is a great example of a “Muskie”.
We are so proud of this little, Musketeer!

Mr. Scott Bowling shares that, recently, Carter has worked to paint various locations on the school's campus. In addition, he has also helped to lead a group of students who planted one dozen Red Bud trees across the school's exterior property.
Way to be a leader, Carter!

Congratulations to our eighth-grade football team! Last night, they captured a victory of 28 - 14 over Portsmouth. Great work, Musketeers! We are so proud of you!

Throughout the month of October, we'll be studying electricity, magnets, and metals in the Innovation Lab! We are so excited for our students to participate in some amazing learning opportunities!

MUSKIE OF THE WEEK
Mrs. Sarah Williams shares that, recently, there was a kindergarten student who was upset because she had gotten new glasses and was afraid other students would make fun of her. Zya stepped in to comfort her in a moment of vulnerability, trying to get her to go with her to breakfast. She was so kind to this student!
We are so proud of this little Musketeer!
