WILDCAT OF THE WEEK
Mr. Doran shares that Jameson displayed great integrity and honesty in a situation where many people, both teenagers and adults, would have been tempted to take the easy path and make quick gains. Jameson instead sought out a trusted adult, reported a situation, and made sure the right people were treated fairly in the end. Mr. Doran shares that Jameson earned a new level of respect with him that day. Way to be a leader, Jameson!

COLLEAGUE CREDIT
This is a tough one for our Wildcats...
For dedicating so many years to the students and staff of Wurtland Middle School and making sure we were fed, not only with delicious food, but with the warmth of her smile and a kind word every day, Mrs. Jennifer Martin deserves this week's Colleague Credit. Mr. Doran shares that she will absolutely be missed in our building. While we will still have a kind and capable crew in our kitchen, the absence of Miss Jennifer will be felt by everyone for a long time. She has earned her retirement, and we all wish her many years of blessings and happiness!
Join us in congratulating Miss Jennifer on her retirement! We love you, Jennifer! You're one of the best Wildcats to ever pass through our building!

NEW SHERIFF IN TOWN
SRO Elliott Gollihue has wasted no time getting into classrooms. Last week, with the conclusion of Safe Schools Week, he spent time speaking about being a good digital citizen. Cyberbullying. ✅ Digital footprint. ✅ Hidden dangers. ✅

READ ALL ABOUT IT
The book fair is in town, and EdRising students had a great time helping our little friends shop and make their wishlists. While waiting to shop, students made bookmark monsters and Lego monsters. We're reading about succeeding at WES and WMS!

PATHWAYS TO BRIGHT FUTURES DONATIONS
Sometimes, it's impossible to find adequate words to express gratitude, and those of us in Wurtland were certainly left speechless today. Pathways to Bright Futures, a Pathways charitable foundation, donated $1,000 and 1,200 food items to our Wurtland Schools Food Bank. We are so grateful for this incredible generosity!
In Wurtland, we are on a mission for our kids! If an obstacle is presented, there is no question that we will dig in our heels and find a way to tackle it. Luckily, we are supported by many neighbors and community partners who believe in us as much as we believe in ourselves. We believe in Wurtland, and we #believeinGC!

WILDCAT OF THE WEEK
Ms. Travis shares that Danielle is always willing to lend a helping hand and notes that she was really impressed when she saw Danielle take time to clean up crayons that had been spilled and were laying throughout the hallway. Way to be a leader, Danielle!

COLLEAGUE CREDIT
Mrs. Brumfield shares that Mrs. Vanover is always willing to go above and beyond to help Wurtland students and her co-workers. She is a supportive and positive colleague and an inspiring teacher for students. Thank you, Mrs. Vanover!

FELLOWSHIP OF CHRISTIAN ATHLETES
FCA will meet tomorrow morning at 7:30 a.m. in the classroom of Mrs. Miruka Williams. Bring your friends!

GEOLOGIC TIMESCALE ACTIVITY
Students in Mrs. Dornon's classes have been working hard and collaborating in the hallways this week on a geologic timescale activity. This is proof that science can be fun!

THE SUN IS SHINING
The sun is shining on Wurtland Middle School (both literally and figuratively). Mr. Blevins added some new artwork to brighten the library. Layla and Kendra approve! Does anyone recognize those lyrics?!

LEARNING and GROWING TOGETHER
Today was a special day for Wurtland Elementary. Our middle school industrial arts students presented the school with two cold gardening beds, a gardening bench, and even some decorative posts. Our agriculture students brought dirt, guidebooks, and fresh basil. We can't wait to see their green thumbs hard at work!

Good morning!
At about 10:20 a.m. this morning, school administration received a report that a visitor was trying to get in side doors at our building. Out of an abundance of caution, school administration implemented a lockout until the visitor could be identified. Officer Elliott Gollihue cleared the campus and school operations resumed as normal.
Thank you for your understanding.
As always, please reach out to us with any questions: 606.836.1023.
