FINDING PATTERNS
Students in the classes of Mrs. Dornon have been working hard to identify patterns. Students are learning this skill through the use of decks of traditional playing cards. It's another great day of awesome learning opportunities at Wurtland Middle School!
HEALTH SCIENCE
Members of Mrs. Dornon's health science class have been hard at work tracking down some dangerous viruses. They have been studying transmission, symptoms, and prevention of viruses. Student groups made unique wanted posters. These viruses are criminal!

Our first official FCA meeting will be held on Thursday at 7:30 a.m. in the classroom of Mrs. Miruka Williams! Today was a “go invite your friends for Thursday” organizational meeting. Students outgrew Ms. Young's classroom quickly today! 23 students are just the beginning!

EdRising students recently helped our little friends at WES with Dot Day activities. When they were finished making art, students found the comfy chairs and enjoyed a good book (or three) read by a big buddy.
WHAT'S TECH GOT TO DO WITH IT?
Mr. Doran’s English classes integrate technology into their lessons on a daily basis to allow for a variety of teaching and learning modalities to accommodate all learners.
HOSPITALITY and TOURISM
Baileigh Akers, a student in Mrs. Shannon's Hospitality and Tourism class, was the teacher for the day. She taught the class how to make her favorite pizza bread, and the class was excited to report that it was delicious!
SLIME TIME
Today, students in Mrs. Logsdon’s science class made slime, observing the phases of matter changing from liquids to solids. We call this a magical learning experience!
CATS CREATIN' COASTERS
This week, students in our Cats Creations class have been learning to design and make car coasters using an online design program, printer, and heat press. As you can see, they also reflect school spirit! We are so proud of their innovations!

PLEASE SHARE: SCHOOL-WIDE FIELD TRIP (9.15.23)
As students have probably already shared, we are going on a school-wide field trip tomorrow! Why?! Because we have had a great week at Wurtland Middle School, and this is the year to celebrate the individuals who come together to make up our wonderful student body.
As a precursor to a very special Veterans Day ceremony that is fast approaching, we will be taking our students to visit the traveling Veterans Memorial Wall in Olive Hill. Buses will depart at 9:00 a.m. After that, we will head to Carter Caves for lunch and a bit of fun. Lunch will be provided for students; however, students are also welcome to pack their own lunches. We plan to return to school by 2:00 p.m.
Please make sure your son and/or daughter is dressed appropriately and ready for a great day! We love our Wildcats!

Mrs. Long shares that, after recently going to the library, Harley has taken his book from class to class. When he has free time, you can always find him diving into his book. Way to go, Harley!
