THE PLANTING BEGINS...
Last week, our agriculture students started seed pods for our first hydroponics growth cycle of the year. Seeds will stay under growth lights for about two weeks and will then be transplanted into our hydroponics tank. We should have over 250 flowers at the end of our growth cycle.
We can't wait to see the final results!

CONTINUED COLLABORATION
Our EdRising students continue to value opportunities to work with Miss Carroll's students. Last week, they once again visited the playground and completed STEM activities together.

🌟 STEM IN ACTION🌟
Our students in fifth through eighth grades recently put the design process in motion while brainstorming, designing, and building Ankle Foot Orthoses (AFOs) as part of their Project Lead The Way and STEM learning.
From brainstorming designs to creating real prototypes, they’ve shown incredible creativity, collaboration, and problem-solving skills.
We are so proud of the innovation happening right here at Greenup County School of Innovation! Our future engineers and designers are already making an impact!

S'MORE, PLEASE
Last week, students in Ms. Holbrook's third-grade class learned all about making "S'more Inferences". Students worked hard all week, making inferences based on who sent them mysterious letters. On Friday, students were able to make their own s'more in class.
This looks like such a fun unit of study!

FARMER DAY
At Greenup County School of Innovation, we are "All In for Ag Education Week," an educational focus that is happening this week throughout the Commonwealth of Kentucky. On Friday, we'll have agriculture-related activities happening throughout the building.
What's more? We've decided to dress the part, too. From muck boots to overalls, students, faculty, and staff will be wearing our favorite farmer gear in the spirit of celebration agriculture's important role throughout our county. Make plans to participate in the fun!
Important Note: All outfits must adhere to the building's dress code.

Mrs. Long's drama students have been busy putting their creativity to the test! They’ve been writing and performing skits to teach the different genres of theatre. They’ve clearly had a blast bringing each one to life!
Great work, students!

COLLEAGUE CREDIT
Mr. Michael Doran shares that Mr. Scott Bowling consistently goes above and beyond the call of duty with his career and technical education (CTE) classes. He inspires his students to give their best efforts while prepping our school for any task that is asked of him. His crew is currently painting the CTE wing of the building, repairing the badly damaged greenhouse, and stocking the greenhouse full of plants for our distinguished visitors from the Department of Agriculture. Mr. Bowling impresses upon the students in his classes the importance of safety, community, and teamwork, and he helps them to recognize the roles they play in a world beyond themselves.
