The 8th grade science project for Earth Day (4/22) was a culmination of their Pi Day (3/14) project. For Pi Day students were presented the request of a circular flowerbed with a 12’ diameter. They had to calculate the circumference and then divide it into 6 slices…one slice for each class. They did the math. 🤓 Then they had to research full sun annual flowers with a height no more than 18”. Each class presented their choices. They did a fine job. 👩🌾 On Wednesday to celebrate Earth Day several students plotted the bed, marked the measurements, cleared the sod, and broke up the ground. Today each class planted their choices and finished it off with mulch. Mrs. Fraley would like to commend her students that worked so hard on this project to improve our school’s grounds.
