Mr. Scott Bowling shares that, when WSAZ was in the building recently, he was preparing students for interviews and didn't have time for lunch. Mr. Bowling shares that, when he was finally finished with interviews for the day, Mr. Haywood brought him a bowl of homemade chili.

WRITER OF THE WEEK
Mrs. Bobbi Brumfield shares that Josie is working on her own novel, and, to this point, she has drafted several chapters. Mrs. Brumfield notes that we are so excited to see students creating and composing their own creative works!

WILDCAT OF THE WEEK
Ms. Jujuana Hieneman shares that Rylan recently volunteered her lunch time to help other students with a special project. She helped by giving directions and encouraging the students to do their best. Each student who participated needed guidance, so this project could not have been completed without her help. Clean-up was also under control with Rylan in charge. She did all of this while wearing her beautiful smile. Thank you, Rylan, for being a wonderful example of the Wildcat Way!

TOTALLY SAUCEsome!
Yesterday, under the instruction of Mrs. Baleigh Long and Ms. Katie Williams, students in Tourism and Hospitality made some AMAZING tartar sauce! The best part? This tartar sauce will be donated to Greenup County Meals on Wheels, and, in our opinion, it's totally SAUCEsome.
To say we're proud of our Wildcats and their amazing teachers is an understatement!
A GENEROUS DONATION
Before last week's game against Louisa, our friends at Air Supreme Heating and Air Conditioning provided pizza to our boys basketball team. We are grateful to our friends for their kindness and generosity!
A NEW SEMESTER
It's a new semester in Industrial Arts, and, after learning a few basics, students are already working on their first projects! Our Wildcats keep building!
A SPECIAL VISITOR
On Friday, EdRising students were blessed with a visit from Ms. Paula Coomer Pleasant, our district's teacher for the deaf and hard of hearing. This visit was the first in our annual Speciality Speaker Series in EdRising. We are always so thankful for our colleagues' willingness to share about their educations and careers.

A FRESH CROP
Mr. Haywood's agriculture class has been hard at work getting ready to plant a very fresh crop! Literally. Students have spent time cleaning the grow tower and other items before planting their next round of seeds.
We can't wait to see their harvest!

Last weekend, Lexi Cox placed first at Boyd and Greenup County tournaments for middle school girls. Chesney Whitlock placed third.

GREENUP COUNTY MIDDLE SCHOOL VOLLEYBALL INFORMATION
Please note some important volleyball open gym and tryout dates for the month of February. All scheduled sessions will be held at the Musketeer Alumni Complex (MAC).
NATIONAL SCHOOL COUNSELING WEEK
It is National School Counseling Week, and we are happy to celebrate our favorite guidance counselor, Mrs. Amy Hieneman! Mrs. Hieneman has a heart of gold and shows kindness in all she does. We love our guidance counselor!
TEXT FEATURES
Students in the classes of Ms. Katie Williams will be reviewing text features in literacy centers throughout the next few days. Students will participate in text feature scavenger hunts, play Hedbanz vocabulary, utilize pocket charts and interactive bulletin boards, and create a text feature collage from newspapers and magazines.
This is hands-on learning at its finest!

Mrs. Angie Shannon shares that Chesney recently went ABOVE and BEYOND when completing NTI assignments. She even sent Mrs. Shannon a silly picture during this time! Mrs. Shannon shares that Chesney's enthusiasm won her this week's honor.

CAREER AND TECHNICAL EDUCATION STUDENT OF THE WEEK
Mr. Scott Bowling shares that Braden is doing a great job of learning how to use a variety of tools in Industrial Arts! He notes that Braden is also proving to be a great teacher as he also works to help others learn. Keep up the great work, Braden!
MIDDLE SCHOOL GIRLS SOCCER INFORMATION
DRAMA
Recently, students in Mrs. Long's drama class participated in a team-building activity. They were divided into groups of three; one student was blindfolded while the others acted as guides. Those students who were designated as guides used only their voices to direct the blindfolded student in solving a puzzle. The goal of this activity was to help students enhance both their communication and listening skills.

TOURISM AND HOSPITALITY DONATIONS
Students new to this semester's Tourism and Hospitality class jumped right into cooking, learning to make brownies this semester! These brownies have been donated to Meals on Wheels and will be delivered this week. Don't worry - leftovers will be swiftly eaten by this crew!
BOYS BASKETBALL EIGHTH-GRADE NIGHT
On Monday evening, we celebrated our eighth-grade boys basketball players. We are so proud of these Wildcats and their commitment to sportsmanship!
