THE ONE WHERE YOUR ELEMENTARY COUNSELOR COMES FOR A VISIT... When the whole elementary school comes for a visit and Mrs. Roberts can't make it, she comes for a lunchtime visit. Can you feel the excitement in these pictures?! Thank you, Mrs. Roberts! We love you! ❤️

COOKIN' AND LEARNIN' In cooking class, students learn hands-on skills to prepare a variety of dishes. Guided by instructors, they work in small groups, practicing food preparation techniques, cooking methods, and presentation. Students gain confidence in the kitchen, develop teamwork skills, and explore flavors and cuisines. The class often ends with a shared meal, where students taste their creations and receive feedback, making cooking both an educational and enjoyable experience. How amazing is this?!

ON THE CASE WITH FINGERPRINTS Students in Mrs. Dornon's science classes have been on the case with fingerprints. They have been using genetic traits to catch criminals in their most recent laboratory activity. This looks like engaging learning at its finest!

TRICK-OR-TREAT, THIS IS SWEET Yesterday, our friends from Wurtland Elementary were treated to a hallway trick-or-treat at Wurtland Middle School. Our students and faculty distributed candy and fun items to an array of spooky guys and ghouls! This has been a great Spooky Season!

CAREER AND TECHNICAL EDUCATION STUDENT OF THE WEEK Mr. Scott Bowling shares that Logan has distinguished himself as a leader in Industrial Arts and is working hard to develop new woodworking skills. Keep building, Logan! We are proud of you!

WILDCAT OF THE WEEK Mrs. Bobbi Brumfield shares that Caleb has been a wonderful friend to a fellow classmate who has been using crutches due to an injury. Caleb carries his belongings and opens and closes doors for him. Way to be a friend, Caleb! We're proud of this Wildcat!

ANNUAL VETERANS DAY PROGRAM We would like to invite all veterans to join us for our annual Veterans Day program at Wurtland Middle School!

BREAKFAST WITH A VETERAN Please make plans to attend our annual Breakfast with a Veteran at Wurtland Middle School on November 11, 2024. We would love for all of our local veterans to be in attendance to eat breakfast with our amazing students!

COLLEAGUE CREDIT Saule Gollihue shares that Ms. Alexandra Young cares so much about her students. She goes far beyond the minimum effort asked of her and continues to amaze her colleagues with her talents! Thank you, Ms. Young! We appreciate you!

SPRINGING NEW GROWTH Students in our agriculture classes have been hard at work. Their lettuce is maturing beautifully, and, this week, they are working to plant basil. We are so proud of their efforts!

TEAM BUILDING SPOOKTACULAR During today's special education Professional Learning Community (PLC) meeting, team members had to collaborate to solve a Halloween-themed mystery. Ms. Alex Young worked hard to organize this activity, and it was a fun experience for everyone in the meeting! Mrs. Ciera Vanover quickly found the clue to solve the case, and the team even tagged in Officer Elliott Gollihue for some help. We are continually working to learn and grow together at Wurtland Middle School!

INDUSTRIAL ARTS Students in Mr. Bowling's class have one final bookshelf for sale. The shelf measures three-feet wide and five-feet tall. Please comment if you would like to purchase this final remaining shelf for $100.00, and we will be in touch with you. Thank you so much!

LITERACY CENTERS FICTION REVIEW Seventh-grade English students are currently reviewing for a unit test focused on examining fiction through literacy centers. Students are completing a digital escape room, playing SMART Board games, playing card games, and working on interactive bulletin boards. This learning looks so fun!

EDRISING ON THE MOVE Our EdRising students have been out and about lately. Students served as chaperones for the Wurtland Elementary School (WES) Old Fashioned Days field trip. Our kindergarten and preschool friends were glad to have the older kids tag along for all the fun. Also, a group of student helpers joined the second-grade students at WES for their trip to Noble Family Farms. Some of these young ladies are in their third year of EdRising and got to reconnect with WES students they have worked with previously in kindergarten and first grade. Mr. Baldridge and Mrs. Loos both made a point to find Ms. Katie Williams, the EdRising adviser, and brag on this crew! We're proud of our Wildcats!

ANNUAL PUMPKIN ACTIVITY Students in Mr. DuDomaine's eighth-grade mathematics class completed their annual pumpkin laboratory activity. In this activity, students examine the number of seeds in the pumpkin as they correlate to the size of the pumpkin. 🎃
