
EIGHTH-GRADE SPOTLIGHT
Before next week's promotion ceremony, we're celebrating our eighth-grade students!
Mrs. Long shares that Bonnie is the type of student who genuinely cares about others. She'll stop and ask about one's day without being prompted. She'll help other students who are in need. She'll take a leadership role when asked. She's a great kid!
We're proud of this Wildcat and look forward to watching her grow!


FIFTH-GRADE VISITORS
On Wednesday, fifth-grade visitors from Wurtland Elementary and Argillite Elementary learned ALL ABOUT sixth grade. They visited our new chicken coop, Industrial Arts, and even spent time in the fitness center. We can't wait to welcome these new Wildcats!

Before next week's promotion ceremony, we're celebrating our eighth-grade students!
Ms. Katie Williams shares that Noah is polite and friendly and always has a smile on his face. Noah is a great athlete and would play basketball every minute of every day if allowed. Noah races real cars in real life, but, this year, he jumped in and joined our STLP Slot Car Racing team. He did a great job of building his car, working on the track, and competing at the state competition. He works just as hard in the classroom!
We're proud of this Wildcat and look forward to watching him grow!


WELCOME TO MacBURGER'S!
Students in Mrs. Long's drama class performed "Fast Food," their final show for the school year! It was filled with laughs and our amazingly talented students. They went the extra mile to make us smile! Great job, everyone!

WILDCAT OF THE WEEK
Mrs. Long shares that she recently witnessed Brendan helping Mrs. Carla clean up the cafeteria after lunch. She shares that this isn't the first time she's noticed Brendan helping others. She notes that he is always the first person to volunteer and help her when needed. Just last week, he helped her to fix a charging issue on a ChromeBook. Great job, Brendan!


EIGHTH-GRADE SPOTLIGHT
Ms. Melissa Travis shares that she calls Ruthie the "Keeper of the Guinea Pigs". She cares for them every day and treats them like her own pets. She started doing this without being asked and even brings them an orange every day. She's precious! The guinea pigs, and Ms. Travis will miss her next school year!
We are so proud of this Wildcat, and we can't wait to watch her grow!

INDUSTRIAL ARTS
Mr. Bowling and his Industrial Arts students have been hard at work building several picnic tables for the new Farmer's Market sponsored by the extension office. Today, the purchases were finalized, and the products were loaded. That's some craftsmanship!








LOVIN’ THE LUAU
At Wurtland Middle School, our eighth-grade luau tradition continued this year! With the weather being a little wetter than we would’ve preferred, we moved this year’s event into the gymnasium. From our limbo tradition to Kona Ice, amazing door prizes, and musical hula hoops, we had all the fun! We owe a special note of thanks to the amazing members of our faculty and staff who made the dance special for our students! It was a tropical delight!











FACEBOOK AUCTION
Students who participated in the passion project facilitated by Mrs. Hieneman and Ms. Young, Flea Market Flip, are sharing their final product today.
This is our eighth and final item in our auction series; we would like to offer this unique flower box. The starting bid is $10.00. Please place bids in the comments in increasing increments of $1.00. Bidding will close tomorrow afternoon (5.11.24) at 3:00 p.m. The winner will be contacted after that time. Bidding begins now!
