
Spirit Week is Coming! Get ready to show your true colors, Musketeers! Sept 19 - Red, White & Blue Day. Let's celebrate Team USA! Please no political affiliated gear - we're all UNITED as Americans and Musketeers! Sept 20 - Tie Dye Tuesday. Show your groovy Musketeer spirit! Sept 21 - Jersey/Team Day. Rep your favorite team - GCHS, UK, EKU, etc. Let's see that team spirit! Sept 22 - School Colors Day, plus the return of SPIRIT NIGHT! We'll see you at Spirit Night with the parade at 5:00, followed by games, crafts, and much more at GCHS! Sept 23 - Camo Day or Green, Black & Gold Day. Whichever you choose, be sure to join us for the homecoming game against Raceland. Kickoff at 7:30.


HOCUS POCUS DAY
In consideration of school pictures being taken on Friday, September 30, Hocus Pocus Day will be moved to Thursday, September 29. It will still be just as spooky!
On September 29, we will have Hocus Pocus Day at Wurtland Middle School. Students are invited to wear their favorite pointy hats and bewitching costumes. Students will be treated to a special spooky lunch on this day and fun-filled activities in each class.

On September 30, we will have Hocus Pocus Day at Wurtland Middle School. Students are invited to wear their favorite pointy hats and bewitching costumes. Students will be treated to a special spooky lunch on this day and fun-filled activities in each class.


WILDCAT OF THE WEEK
Mr. Horsley shares that, without being asked, Zach recently helped a student pick up several dropped items, getting on his knees to retrieve the items for the student from under a cluster of desks. Way to go, Zach!


COLLEAGUE CREDIT
Mrs. Tucker shares that Ms. Baleigh Scott has truly stepped up this year as a new teacher in the building. She has developed a wonderful rapport with her students; students look forward to her class. She has great classroom management, and students respond well to her. They also love that she has created a drama class for them, as we definitely have students who like to perform! Mrs. Tucker shares that she loves that she gets to collaborate with Baleigh and to watch her grow!


TITLE I INFORMATIONAL SESSION

GREENUP COUNTY MIDDLE SCHOOL GIRLS BASKETBALL
Congratulations to our sixth-grade girls basketball team! These young ladies defeated Boyd County with a 30-18 victory! Great job, ladies! #BelieveinGC

It's time for our fall open house event! Join us on the evening of October 17 for teacher conferences, musical performances, a Title I informative session, and for the opportunity to learn about our career and technical programs. We can't wait to see you!


Scholastic Book Fair
It's time for our first Wurtland Middle School book fair of the year. Stop by the library and explore all of the surprises that Ms. Johnson will have in store that week! Also, please join us for family shopping night on October 17.


COLLEAGUE CREDIT
Mr. Scott Bowling shares that our custodial staff has earned this week's Colleague Credit. Mr. Bowling shares that this team worked diligently to prepare the building for the return of our students. READER OF THE WEEK
Ms. Norris shares that Zoey Hackett is most deserving of this week's Reader of the Week title! Ms. Norris notes that Zoey often brings a book (sometimes two) with her to class. She is always reading when she finishes her classwork early. Ms. Norris notes that she loves seeing Zoey so involved with her books!

WILDCAT OF THE WEEK
Mrs. Shannon shares that Caitlyn Fields has earned the Wildcat of the Week recognition. Recently, a sixth-grade student dropped his binder, spreading its contents throughout the hallway. On her way down the hall, Caitlyn stopped to help a student she didn't even know collect all of the items. Way to go, Caitlyn!
