TWELVE DAYS OF READING AT WMS

We had a false fire alarm today. We evacuated the building per our emergency procedures. We temporarily relocated students to WES due to the rain. The building has been cleared, and students are returning to the building for normal afternoon departures.

ANNUAL DOOR DECORATING COMPETITION
The competition is on! Today, it's the preliminary round of our third annual Christmas door decorating tournament. Students, faculty, staff, parents, and community members will all be invited to vote. The top sixteen doors will make it to the bracket, and the competition will really begin to gain some heat at that point. Voting will remain open throughout the school day. The winning fourth period and/or FLEX group with the most votes will win a pizza party! Happy voting!

Members of our health sciences class have been focusing on their sports medicine unit. They’re taping ankles with closed basket weaves. We are so proud of them!


HOSPITALITY and TOURISM
Mrs. Shannon’s hospitality and tourism students had SNOW much fun making tasty treats with a holiday theme on Friday!




COLLEAGUE CREDIT
Mr. Bowling shares that these three ladies are always working hard and putting in extra time to help our academic team succeed. They spend many hours after normal school hours to help our students prepare. Thank you!

WILDCAT OF THE WEEK
Mrs. Shannon shares that Eli is just a wonderful human being! He is kind and always smiling. You make us proud, Eli!

WRITER OF THE WEEK
Mrs. Brumfield shares that Kyler has worked very hard in writing, so he would do well on his on-demand test. He was so excited that he stopped by her room to tell her that he worked as hard as he could, and he felt that he had done well on it. He was right!

EdRISING
Our first of several Specialty Speakers came to visit today! Our EdRising students got to learn from the greatest teacher of the blind and visually Impaired, Mrs. Amanda Greene. She was gracious enough to bring her resources, braille books, tactile books, magnifiers, and more. Thank you, Mrs. Greene, for sharing your expertise and insight into this specialty field of education!

INDUSTRIAL ARTS
Our industrial arts classes wanted to show their appreciation for our wonderful cafeteria and all that these ladies do for each one of us every day. So, students made each of them a barn wood sign for Christmas. Thank you, ladies! Merry Christmas!

TOURISM and HOSPITALITY
Today, students in Mrs. Shannon’s tourism and hospitality class enjoyed creating a holiday culinary treat, Grinchy-Claus. These tasty snacks were made with various fruits and marshmallows. Yum!
